Anatomy is a core aspect of much of my work. I am fascinated by the structure of humans, and the importance they represent in society and to me personally. Torsos are, to me, especially vulnerable given that they house most every component required to let a human function. While historically the "heart" (chest) is associated with emotions, for me it's the gut (stomach) that truly reflects emotion. Both are valid, both live in the torso.
The key differences with Torso 005 is with the piercings, bobbins and the twine. The piercing are the anchors, the fixed hard points, the things that happen to you emotionally that pin you to a memory, to a feeling. They
are painful, intrusion, and though not permanent they are not easily removed. The bobbins represent how those hard points pull on each other, the tension not letting anything change or heal. The twine is not unlike a spider's web... any movement is tracked, signaling out letting the predatory thoughts know that you are caught.
